I ordered a highly refurbished Herman Miller Mirra Chair. This particular chair was manufactured in 2008 (I knew it would be somewhere in this age range). However, I was amazed at the condition, when they say Like New it really is like new. New armrests, clean seats, what looks to be a new and excellent paint job and all the functions work exactly as expected. The ordering process was easy and signing up to their newsletters earned me a further 10% off the price. Communication was excellent and delivery by their own driver was within 4 days of the order, much quicker than expected. Lee (the delivery driver) was most helpful and followed the instructions left on my door in my absence. I don’t often by office chairs and this will last a long time but if ever I need one in the future I will come back to this firm. In the meantime, the least I can do is highly recommend this firm.

I ordered a Herman Miller Mirra chair from Corporate Spec. Being a refurbished chair, I had a few concerns: would it be bashed up? Would it smell terrible? (If you ever bought pre-owned headphones from places like CEX you’ll know what I mean; they smell of the previous owner. If that person wasn’t well washed they can absolutely reek). Would the chair creak and whine during use?
I had been looking at SecretLabs, Boulies, and Noblechairs but stumbled on Corp Spec accidentally. For reference, the SecretLabs chair I was set on (the Targaryen themed chair) was £600+. These chairs are racing seat inspired gaming chairs. Apparently all made in the same factories in China but to different specifications based on the customers requirements. SecretLabs make many claims about R&D which, after a bit of research, are either fabrications or embellishments. Not so with Herman Miller. They have a proven track record of innovations in seating. Innovations which others usually copy.
Back to my concerns. It turns out I was concerned about nothing.
The only sign of wear on the chair was on the lumbar area, where contact with the backrest mesh had left a slight impression of the plastic surface behind the mesh (and I do mean slight). Other than that I can’t find any scratches, dents, or discolouration on any part of the chair.
There is a slight smell (inevitable) but it is a nice smell. I would hazard a guess to say it is either a nice smelling cleaning fluid or Fabreeze? Possibly the previous owner used a lot of aftershave; it is definitely a masculine scent, but a clean scent so I have no complaints. Nothing like the rancid dirty body smell I got from CEX headphones.
There are no creaks or any other sound when using the chair or the recline.
Considering I was going to spend £600+ on a chair, £349.99 is a bargain for what looks and feels like a new chair. And these chairs were over £1,000 when new!
I paid for the next day delivery (I broke my previous chair so needed a new one. I’m 6ft 1 and 110kg… the welds snapped on the old chair) and it arrived within that time frame, fully boxed in the original box. I had intended to keep the box, but I left it outside while I got the chair in the house (the front door was too narrow for the box) and in that short space of time the neighbours cat decided to wee on the box so it went in the bin hahaha, dirty blighter.
This is the first chair that my shoulders have something to rest on instead of the back rest being too narrow. I have very broad shoulders, but the Mirra is big enough for them. I was getting migraines when using my previous chair; the arm rests weren’t adjustable so tension built in my trapezius muscles. The new chair has multiple settings for the arm rests so, hopefully, I can reduce the frequency of the migraines I get. Touch wood.
I am very impressed with Corporate Spec and will look to recommend you to friends and family (my brother in law is looking for a new chair after his Razer Iskur broke. I will be sending him to you) for their office furniture needs. Should my chair fail (which seems unlikely when considering how well refurbished it is) I will be a returning customer.

However, as we are currently mid-renno, I did not want to commit to spending on a chair that may change in the near future (hence dodgy background on picture).
