Refurbished Walter Knoll Platner Lounge Chair – Green

With his steel wire collection, Platner hoped to produce a line of furniture that would appeal to the eyes more than the simple and empty products of the period. At the same time, the designs should not be overly ornate, and the purpose should not be overlooked.
Hundreds of swinging, nickel-coated steel wires are welded together to make the Platner armchair. The steel frame acts as both a structural and a decorative feature. The seat is made of fiberglass with cold foam cushioning, according to Knoll. A translucent plastic ring protects the base and the chair from damage on the Platner armchair’s base.
